Nice to see you here! You must be someone who enjoys the story behind the work~
About Jane Jia Meng
I’m an ENFJ product designer with a background in industrial and interactive design. At NYU’s ITP program, I explored how technology, storytelling, and human behavior intersect—and how design can bring them into conversation.
I’m drawn to clarity in complexity and warmth in structure—both in how I think and how I work. I enjoy organizing information, shaping user flows, and designing interactions that support informed decisions. I’m also a self-starter, with a curiosity that moves in all directions: inward, to observe; outward, to connect.
Currently working at @Sitara Systems
Mindsets I carry everywhere…
📚 Accumulation sharpens judgment
I believe strong output comes from consistent, high-quality input. I refine what I absorb to sharpen my instincts for aesthetics, storytelling, and design.
🧭 Agility is a sense of rhythm
I enjoy structuring tasks, setting clear priorities, and progressing in steady iterations. Staying flexible without losing direction helps me maintain momentum—in both design and life.
🔍 Research is where thinking begins
I use research to enter the right context. It’s how I move beyond assumptions—by engaging with real dilemmas and meaningful content.
📈 Measuring impact, tracking growth
I draw from both data and behavior shifts to understand what my work achieves. Tracking impact helps me reflect, grow, and decide what to improve next.
When not in Figma, I also...
🎨 Illustrate freely
Drawing has been with me the longest. It’s how I process emotions, capture fleeting thoughts, and share them with others. Some of my illustrations have been selected for magazine covers and picture books.
🧊 Model in 3D
I use 3D modeling as a way to express ideas that feel different, when sketches seem too flat, or words fall short. It’s part tool, part toy.
🪚 Make by hand
I once dreamed of being a toy designer as a child. While I’ve since found my path in product design, I still create playful objects in my spare time—dolls, small toys, and decorations that draw on my industrial design roots.
I’ve watched over 1,600 films so far—on track to hit 2,000 before I turn 30. Watching movies allows me to stretch time, slip into other lives, and gather ways of seeing.
